Most Cristians believe that you must humble yourself and ask the Lord to forgive you. According to some, the devil does not want to be saved. Perhaps if he asked for forgiveness, God would take mercy upon him.
He doesn't deserve forgiveness, and will never repent. If he did, that does not mean there won't be sin. Satan is not the one who causes us to sin, he simply tempts us. But he still greatly contributes to our sin by his influence. With our free will, we will sin by nature. But Satan still cannot repent. Why? This is not because God is lacking in mercy. The reason they cannot repent is rooted in their very nature as angels. Satan (or "the devil") and the other fallen angels (often called "demons") were created naturally good, but they became evil through a choice against God that was final and irreversible. Their act of rebellion is irrevocable (that is, cannot be taken back) because they possess a perfect angelic intellect which, unlike human intellect, is not darkened by ignorance. They could clearly see the true nature of their choice and all the consequences that would flow from it. As a result, their rebellion against God and His will was definitive. So, as the Catechism teaches, "There is no repentance for the angels after their fall, just as there is no repentance for men after death". (My answer continues in the comments)
Forgivenes requires repentance. Im pretty sure satan wasnt the least bit sorry for what it did, esp considering it continues to create havoc in the world. Besides im fairly certain the ex-angel we call satan commited the one unforgivable sin of blasphemy and was cast from heaven for it. Its judgement is done, its lot cast, its end already set.
Almighty God is a forgiving God - however, if one willfully commits a malicious sin or deliberately goes against God - is that done out of ignorance or willful sin. How, does one turn around from such strong and intense "betrayal." He was trying to usurp Almighty God's position in heaven. Satan was around long enough to observe and take in the difference between what was right and wrong.
Sadly, God’s purpose was opposed by a proud angel who came to be known as Satan. He craved to be worshipped by Adam and Eve. Using a snake as his mouthpiece, Satan got them to rebel against God’s rulership. (Genesis 3:1-6; Revelation 12:9.
The whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one,” Satan the Devil, reveals the Bible. (1 John 5:19) He has been a manslayer from his rebellion at mankind’s beginning down to our day. (John 8:44) Satan sees human life as cheap and disposable. He is governed by self-serving ambition, so it is no wonder that he has created a global system that thrives on selfishness.

Jehovah God will forgive past errors only if we are truly repentant & accept his mercy. When we sin, we have Jesus ransom sacrifice to cover over those sins. Remember, God forgave Peter & the other apostles for abandoning his son Jesus in his greatest hour of need. And though that may or may not seem like that big of a deal, the bible does clearly state however, that God forgives gross sinners, as long as they are repentant! (1 Corinthians 6:9-11). Satan would like to have us believe that we are beyond the reach of God's mercy & are incapable of meeting his requirements, but that just isn't so! Satan the devil was not ignorant as to what God required of him! He chose to use his free will to turn on God and coherse 1/3 of the angels to follow him in his wicked course. He betrayed our Heavenly Father without any apologies! He desired for himself 'the glory, honor, and power' that was rightly due his father (Rev. 4:11) .He desired God's rightful position. How disrespectful, ungrateful (as his father gave him life), disloyal & unloving, that was on the Devil's part! How could he turn on his own Father like that? And though we see it everyday in our society, still, how sad.
