What does double bonus mean in NCAA basketball?
The team getting fouled gets 2 free throws. On initial bonus, the team gets 2 free throws, only if first one is hit. It's called a one and one.
It means the team has reached a point where they get two free throws on every foul the rest of that half, regardless of if it's a shooting foul or not. It's supposed to cut down on fouling toward the end of a half or game (supposed to, anyway).
On non shooting fouls the recipient of the foul shoots two free throws no matter if they make or miss the first.
