How come when I put pencil eyeliner on it never stays on? It always rubs off

Report as

Instead of using an eyeliner pencil, I started taking a skinny brush, dip it in water then use my eyeshadow as eyeliner. It stays on all day. You can also use a liquid eyeliner which also lasts longer than pencil. Waterproof makeup is a pain to remove especially on the eyes, even with makeup remover products. Too much product on the eyes. The skin below the eye is the thinnest skin on our body and all the rubbing it takes to remove makeup is not good and can cause early wrinkles.

It does that for me too, i think it's probably just wearing off. Refresh it every couple hours or so to prevent it, if you can.

Try waterproof. Cover girl makes "Outlast" products that really stay on. Don't rub your eyes.

After you pencil on your eye liner & smudge it along so it's a softer look than a harsh line. Then Dip in translucent powder or eyeshadow & dust off on a thin brush & gently brush over the eyeliner as this seals the eyeliner. It seals & stops it wearing off or transferring above your eye if you sweat. You can use a darker shade of eyeshadow than your actually wearing on your eyelids.
