how do i turn on email notification on my samsung mythic cell phone?

just bought my phone and cannot find where ti turn on the email notification in the user manual

Go to your providers website, click on phone device support. The site has a Learning Your Device Center that has tutorials ( interactive, and step by step), along with other guides and manuals that will teach you how to use the different features on your phone.
