How to deal with criticizing friends?

My BFF called my hair hideous when i curled it and now she's denying that she did that. Then 1 hour later she got mad at ME because supposedly I'm changing cussing at her just like my old BFF did BUT I'M NOT CHANGING i don't cuss. She walked up to me and said this " Your changing just like Esme did to you and now your acting like a little brat cussing at me and changing yourself". Then she walked away. We are cool now but i don't know if she knows the real me. She's awesome & i love her to death. But i am wondering if i want to lose her friendship. I don't but i'm scared because she doesn't know the real me.

Just progressively become yourself, like little by little. Pretend like it is a joke at first and then repeat over and over until she is used to it. Do this with all traits that are going to change.

Talk to her & tell your feelings. Tell her you love her & want to keep the friendship.

She isn't your friend anymore. It's hard to deal with but you have to sometimes. We all do.

Urgh I have a friend like that. To me, I love her too, but its just that she feels too controlling to me. I actually got some help from ask, and then I found out how to stop it. But tell them that they have no right to say anything like that about you and that you can too if you'd like.

The same thing is happening to me what I would do is show her that you don't cuss and that she is wrong I am on your side :)

It sounds like your friend doesn't truly know the real kind of friendship. If it comes up again like this situation find more friends. Life's too short to have a friend that doesn't really appreciate the real you. And it's always fun to have multiple friends

i dont think its a good think to just let it slide, its obviously an unresolved issue and will probably pop up again. the fact that she did that and u let it slide will probably make her believe she can do it again without consequences. if this was recent, u should confront her about it, but if it happened a long time ago its wont do any good bringing it up now. in that case wait till the next time it happens too confront her
