How can I get out semi - permanent dark red hair dye out of my brown hair fast?

I have light but closer to dark brown hair and I have dyed it red but because my hair is dark it is like a dark red. I have had it in for about 2 - 3 weeks and I need it out in 10 days before I go to dance in America. I wash it every night with anti - dandruff shampoo because apparently it helps it fade out but its not working. I dyed it at home myself and not at the hair dresser! PLEASE HELP! Thanks x

The color is SEMI-PERMANENT. It's not going to come out of your hair FAST. This is why, you go to the hair dresser for these things. So you can learn about these things BEFORE doing them. You either need to be patient, and let your hair grow out, re-dye it a different color, bleach it, or shave it all off.

Hi, Sienna. Try washing it with Prell shampoo and be sure and wash and rinse it twice everyday. It doesn't have a conditioner in it, so with your color, I'd put in a spray-in conditioner or something like that so it won't dry it out. I would think that should do the trick. I have actually washed mine over and over trying to get a color out when I looked like Elvira. I've even washed it more than once in a day. I sure hope this works for you. It should make a big difference anyway.

You know, after I read what Cj said and re-read your question, I realized I don't think what I've ever used was semi-permanent color. The only think I ever experiment with was supposed to come out after 6 washings and maybe that's demi-permanent? If that's true, honey, I'd somehow find the money and go to a professional and let her help you out if it's that important to you because 10 days is sure not a whole lot of time.

Mix a TBS of baking soda into your shampoo along with some lemon juice (optional) and wash regularly. the colour will fade fast because baking soda cleans toxins, chemical build up and such from the hair and the lemon will help fade the colour. Good luck & hope it works for you! (:

If those don't work... Go to a hair dresser or maybe a beauty school. Look before you leap...been there, done that!
