He went everywhere healing the sick people. He fed the hungry. He raised some dead people. He taught in the synagoge about prophecy from the old testament. He loved children. He taught people to love each other and to help each other. He taught about His 2nd coming in Matthew 24. All the books in the world could not hold all that He did and said.
Christians all over the world believe that Jesus' death and resurrection made it possible for man to be reconciled to God, forgiven, saved, healed and delivered! His great forgotten gift - is the gift of hope. His teaching made life on earth better, His message brought healing to the nations and His ministry brought the dead back to life!
If the accounts of his life are to be believed he had many talents. He was a wandering orator. He was a caterer (the loaves and fishes). He was a civil libertarian (saved a woman from being stoned) He was a raconteur (all the parables) He was a vintner (water into wine) He was a psychologist (cured the Gadarene swineherd) In short, he was what we would these days call "a renaissance man" ... and we hadn't even had the Renaissance, yet.
His martyrdom inspired his followers to spread his teachings that became the world's largest religion. Millions were killed or died in his name, nations fell and rose from his followers. His death changed the world forever
I highly doubt he, as an individual did anything, there is no historical information about him, so he may not have even existed at all, especially as the God/Man everyone looks to and wrote about in the bible. Now if you want to ask what his biblical story did: It started Wars It created a religious empire as the world had never seen It caused the deaths of millions that refused to follow it or Innocent of sins accused of (the inquisition). It caused a retardation of human advancement for about 1000 years It spawned the slave trade out of Africa It brought an end to having multiple wives (this one I'm thankful for, ones enough). I actually cannot think of even one good thing to come out of the myth of Jesus.
JESUS WAS THE GREATEST MAN THAT EVER LIVED. I have accepted him as my personal Savior. The Bible clearly states that " Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."(Acts 4:12) LivingBible I believe that. But I have also learned that serious responsibilities go with it. If I really believe in Jesus, than I can't believe in him just as far as it seems convenient. His perfect life given in sacrifice makes it possible for us to have forgiveness of sins. But I know that it is also vital to pay attention to his instructions regarding our responsibilities as Christians. The Bible itself is the principle evidence that Jesus Christ is a historical person. The record in the Gospels is not a vague narrative of events at some unspecified time and in an unnamed location. It clearly states time an place in great detail. For example , see Luke 3:1 2, 21-23 LivingBible. And also starting from verse 23. Read the chronology from the time Jesus was about thirty years old when he began his public ministry. All the way back to Adams father was God. I try to follow his foot steps, I know he will not misdirect me. For those who choose to follow his foot steps, their life is enriched.
Ask the man cured of leprosy, the woman healed of bleeding, the mother of the boy raised from the dead....multiply those deeds by thousands. The impact goes much further--having inspired more hospitals than any other life in history.
Or do want to know how He conquered man's greatest enemy--death. He has freed millions held captive to sin, to the fear of death, to superstition and demonic influence. It is impossible to measure the positive spiritual impact; past, present, future.
Or one could try to measure the impact of his teachings--who knows the real impact on society in terms of those who were transformed by His life--the number of marriages rescued, the children saved from infanticide---those who care for the poor, desiring to imitate those teachings of love/compassion.
Or how could one measure the impact on education, the inspiration of leading scientists in practically every major fields. His life has inspired more discovery, inspired more truth and innovation than any other.
Or go back to creation, to the beginning of time when the universe came into being...and Jesus Christ created the water molecule, essential to human life and society.
