Did you know that you can learn to cry on line? No, I don't mean the tears that run down your cheeks when somebody asks a Justin Bieber question. There are YouTube videos that show you how. Here's one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTfpxKN5Vgw
think of something that happened in your life that was really heartbreaking. something really sad. i have been acting since i was 4 im now 16. and what i do for my auditions i think about my grandpa passing away cause that was a really hard time for me.. hope i helped :)
Different things work for different people, but practicing definitely helps. Sometimes the way you breath makes the difference. Try to breath in slowly (but not too slowly!) and shakily at first, and go on from there. Think about how breathing feels when you are sad as well. I find it works best when I'm tired. That doesn't mean that you should try to be tired, but focusing on that tired feeling really helps. When you practice, do it away from people who would make you feel like laughing. Sometimes having someone around that is serious can help, but again, different things work for different people. Only use onions as a last resort. ;)
I open my eyes wide, don't blink, think of something horribly sad, and think about it in detail. I think the fact there are children without homes is horrible. So I would get serious and think, "Those poor children don't have a house, not even a bed to sleep in. They have no toys. How can they even want to play when they don't know where their next meal is coming from?" You get the idea?
