yeah.. no not for gaming.

Apple is great for people who aren't very tech savvy. If you are tech savvy and want to play games your screwed. Besides apps on the app store Apple doesn't provide many good games and most if not all pc games aren't compatible.

Windows 8 is great for touch screens, it's just a pain in the ass to learn. Also did you think on the idea of using a Flat screen Tv as a monitor? They can be a lot cheaper and much bigger.

Some of the best computers to buy include Asus Transformer P1801, Sony Vaio Tap 20, Asus ET2220IUTI, HP Z1 Workstation, Chillblast Fusion Blaze and Palicomp Alpha Inferno. We also have Dino PC Microraptor GTX 660 Ti, Acer Predator G3, Dell XPS 8500, Gateway SX2865, Acer Aspire AME600 and Asus Essentio CM6870. Best answer ever! I use mostly Asus, love thier motherboards, very reliable. Also using an Nvidia 660 (I can't remember the modle number) graphics card which has all my games up to speed. 8gigs of ram and a very high wat power unit. This computer needs very little modification and usually once every 3 years I'll add or replace parts.

What will you do with this new computer? I mean you can try MacBook if you mainly use it to play games, watch video, images. Different types have different selling points, the key point is what is you desired?

Dell, Apple, Mac... all good brands. But maybe you should talk to a sales associate at maybe staples or best buy who really knows what they are talking about. Happy shopping!

I think that that if you are looking for a laptop a MacBook pro is a good choice, they may be expensive but they are the best. But if you are looking for a desktop maybe an imac...

Go with Davescat answer, Most people here are telling you what brand to buy. In reality, A computer that you can customize will be your best bet. As far as the windows format, You may have to adapt unless you prefer the Linux OS. You can always reformat. But no matter the operating system they are all meant to be learned one way or another. I assume you're into a gaming computer... or perhaps into running more than one program at once. Processing power will depend mostly on The Processing unit, Motherboard, Power unit, and of course memory.

I recommend buying a prebuilt Asus brand computer. Simply because you have a very well made MB already set it in. From there you can toy with your OS, and see what needs to be modified. Then upgrade accordingly... buying a computer and making it to your preference is a hobby and like all hobbies it will cost some money.

Sony, LG, and Panasonic are very well made LCD screens which support HighDef.

There's truly only one computer - a Mac. Anything else is a waste of your time and money.

MacBook Air 13- Inch. The 11 Inch is "cute" but doesn't have a big enough screen to do worth while things on.

build your own... a lot of people are afraid of doing this. its not as hard as people make it out to be. just make sure you have a users manual that comes with your products if you are a first time builder. my specs are able to run battlefield 3 on ultra for only $800 http://pcpartpicker.com/user/drunkenwookie/saved/19yF i really recommend building yours. its a lot cheaper and you dont get ripped off. also you will need to buy an operating system with this build it will add at least $50 - $100 to it. and if you are even wanting to spend more you can add a bigger monitor and better video card and a faster processor. currently there is an AMD processor that clocks at 4.0 ghz for around $100.

Build a laptop, get your own hard drive, processors, graphics cards, because some computer you think are good, but the parts are either useless or bad, so it's very customized.
