How much should I pay to babysit a 1 year old boy?

This summer I may be babysitting or be a nanny. He's 1 year old and I would be watching him from about 8:30am to 5pm. And I don't know how much I should charge an hour or just do it per day. And also I am a certified babysitter and everything.

Wow those are long hours! I usually get paid anywhere between $7-$12 which is pretty low. But the older you are the better (usually). I would say maybe like $13-18 an hour for you but it really depends on the circumstances; how old you are, how well you know the family, etc. Maybe talk to the parents before and just see what they are thinking. 8 1/2 hours is a really long time to babysit... :) :)

Depending on how long you work I would ask for fifteen and in late hours extra it's mostly about how wealthy the family is and what they can afford and how often you will babysit

Depending on what part of the country you live in, $7.00 an hour is not unreasonable. You are responsible for the care and well-being of their child.

if you ask more than 10/hr you may not get the job!

If the sitter is specially trained(for example with Red Cross) then pay them maybe 25 an hour. But do a background check. W/o training, I'd say 15
