Would you send your child to military school for playing video games while they are grounded from them?

He has done it twice over spring break, he is mad at me because I grounded him the 1st day of spring break. He is also sometimes disrespectful, but that's the average teen fo ya! Thanks

No. Sending your child away to military school for disobeying you over something like a video game, which is not inherently dangerous, is overkill. But you'd better figure out some form of discipline that works, because there are lots of other, more harmful, ways a teen can choose to rebel. When my sons were disobedient teens, I used to ask them what they thought an appropriate punishment for their disobedience might be. Amazingly, they always came up with something fair, and they always abided by it, because it had been their own idea. They're grown men now, and they turned out pretty well, so maybe that's a discipline strategy worth trying. Good luck.
P.S. Lock those video games away, and tell him why, and also tell him what he'll need to do to prove to you that he deserves to have them back!

That's pretty harsh , but it's your kid so if you feel that needs to be done then so be it .

Take the game system away, or lock the door and keep the key. It's too big a temptation when he has nothing to do. Yeah, disrespectful teens are a pain.

No. I would just be more of a parent and take the game system away

No. Discipline him if he's very disrespectful I'm 15 and have been disciplined since I was 9.

How is he playing? He shouldn't even have access if he is grounded.
