1. Jesus is a physical manifestation of God, thats a biggie right there. 2. He is Gods son as well, another biggie 3. God sent Jesus third biggie God sent Jesus specifically for us 4. He chose to be horrifically tortured and executed to save humanity, even the ungrateful wretches who spit in his name and deny him - should they ever change their minds. He could have chosen not to do that. 5. He loved us enough he wanted to do that for us.
Absolutely nothing. I do not believe he is the son of god. What I think is his mother got pregnant when she was not supposed to and just led everyone to believe he was the son of god. If god was as forgiving as everyone thinks, why does he send gays to Hell, and not murderers if they are forgiven! Why are there starving children who pray every night? Why do little children get picked up off of the street and killed? Answer that one!
Jesus so worthy to me because He said; Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. (Isaiah 43:1b-3a)
Well to most people who believe in him he saved them from a afterlife in hell. They say he was whipped, tortured, nailed to a cross, and stabbed to save us. It would take a hard heart to fully understand the legend and not be moved. (.So for my answer, while I can never be sure, I will just Assume all that happened.). I can not say I "love" or "praise" Jesus for dying on the cross and saving us, as it has happened long ago and unfortunately other people have suffered far worse deaths, and died for more relevant (to the world, not after life) purposes. In church I notice people focus more on how he died instead of why, which lowers it's importance alot to me. My respect would be for why he died and what purpose it is said to of served. If I knew him personally maybe I would understand it better.
Too many things. He died for me, saved me by filling me with His Spirit and baptizing me in His Blood, kept me safe, gave me a good home, blessed me with an awesome family, gave me my talents, talked to me, shown me His love, made me an overcomer, and so much more. He'd be worthy even if He never did anything for me because He is the God of all creation!
Revelation 5:12. "Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing." In other words, He is worthy of all our praise, all our thanks, all our devotion, all our worship and all our life.
Hi Liisaa, I love this Q. * In my mind Christ is above all, he is the exact representation of God, he is worthy of praise, earning his way to the right hand side of the Father. He is righteousness & holiness, he is warm & tender, strong & mighty, clean & pure, just & merciful. He is the only one worthy to be Gods salvation, the only one chosen to cleanse mankind, the only one trustworthy to bear the sins of us all. Christ Jesus is my perfect high priest, my flawless saviour, my unblemished sacrifice. It's because of Christ that I am where I am. :-)
