I know the basics of playing acoustic guitar, but I want to learn more without getting professional lessons.

I don't know how to read music and don't really want to learn. I just want to be able to play songs...

You can learn how to play the acoustic guitar by getting an elementary book for practice. The book will help you learn the scales, play the chord sequence and how to look at the chord patterns. You can get the basic guidelines on http://www.ehow.com/how_2210969_play-acoustic-guitar-chords.html.

Well, my mom got me one of those, but It is showing those music scale things that I can't read. I dont really want to either... I have friends and family that learned to play without it so I don't think I need it... But thanks anyway!

So... do you not want to learn tablature, or not want to learn sheet music? Either way, you're just stuck listening to songs and repeating them, until you decide to learn one form or the other.

Just search the type of guitar lessons/songs you want on YouTube. They have alot of video tutorials on there. You can also Google how to play certain chords or how to play tab, thats how I learned! :D
