How can I get rid of the dark circles under my eyes?

I've had dark circles a long as I can remember. I'm sick of it!

Report as

Putting a spoon in the freezer then applying them to the bags and dark circles under your eyes can tighten the skin to appear less dark and give you less of bags. Another trick is a green tea bag (put in warm water and left to soak for two minutes then wrung out a little) and put it on the bags and circles. The antioxidants help the coloration. Lastly, make sure you are getting enough sleep! but some people, no matter the amount of sleep they are getting, have these circles. Another cause can be stress so make sure to fond yourself a stress free environment. Good Luck! :)

Put spoons in the freezer. Every night before you go to bed put them over your eyes for ten minutes.
Those dark circles are pools of blood sitting there.

I think.?

you can try two tips: a. open and close your eyelids, over 100 times daily. b. In a cup of hot water, put a teaspoon of salt, mix it and then put absorbent cotton with hot salt water on your black circle, repeating several time. If your black circle is stubborn, you can consider operation if necessary or ask for a doctor when you grown up.

I've had dark circles all my life. Some doctors think its hereditary and others say it has to do with your digestive system. I've been to dermatologists (who told me to eat well and sleep) and a plastic surgeon (who sold me a very expensive cream that didn't work). After trying all brands what finally worked for me was a $5 Maybelline Cover Stick. I apply a little of the yellow one first and then dab the medium beige on top. It lasts all day, doesn't come off in the pool and doesn't crack if you moisturize first.

I use that stuff too! OMG since I was in HIGH SCHOOL hahaha all these people try and sell us these new products but if ain't broke don't fix it! Hate hearing that plastic surgeon got you to buy that cream and then it didn't work. Like you I too have tried everything to get rid of them but now that I'm about to be 38 in weeks I've come to accept they are part of me. So I buy more cover up! lol

If they have been part of your life since you can remember, then they're part of your life. Ummmm....hate to be a heartbreaker, but it's *who* you are, with the dark eye circles. You could prolly use more sleep if this is the case, but in the end, if you have eye circles you've always had, guess what? You're always gonna.

Yep I agree! Couldn't have said it better myself. Eventually you accept your body the way it is. If you stress over not having that coke bottle Barbie figure, your crappy job, your MOTHER IN LAW (that's mine), your family, or the million other things we as women have to deal with it will show up on your face. Your eyes first. Wait til you get crows feet honey then you have a real worry because there ain't a pill, lotion, potion, or magic wand you can wave to get rid of those. Only surgery. Have you seen some of these plastic folks that have had their eyes done? Joan Rivers for example is SCARY! Don't worry about about how you look just accept yourself and love yourself for who you are. Now don't let yourself go either but don't fall victim to all the beauty crazy people. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and if you ask you bf or husband he probably didn't notice them. If he did time to get another bc he's shallow and too insecure to really love you. I've got a novel already so I'll let someone else talk. Love you for who you really are not what you look like!

If you wear makeup, when you put on eyeliner, do not pull down on the skin beneath your eyes. That is one way to prevent them...

Getting enough sleep will probably help but you may also want to try eliminating gluten from your diet. this may help with the blackness.

Try not to rub your eyes. If you do, do it lightly. One of the reasons people have dark circles under their eyes are because they rubbed them too hard, along with not enough sleep. The dark circles are almost like bruises, considering the skin under your eyes is very soft and easy to bruise. If you are putting on makeup, or just rubbing your eyes in general, don't rub with your pointer or middle finger. Use your ring finger, because it cannot project as much force as the other fingers, therefore it will not bruise as easy.

1. if you have the dishwasher running at night take a spoon out in the morning and apply it to your dark circles. (this also works too in the freezer)
2. you can use makeup. concealer works but one product that i really like is "ohh la lift" by benefit and it is an under eye brightener.
hope i helped !! :)

Almond oil is considered as an effective remedy to remove dark circles. Massaging the area with almond oil before going to bed also diminishes dark circles.

How to get rid of dark circles with 3 simple remedies:

You can start with the age old cucumber or cabbage soaked in boiling water (and allowed to cool) applied directly to your eye sockets.
Dark Circle Remedy 1.
Squeeze excess moisture from two tea bags that were recently used, (optionally squeeze a little cucumber or cabbage juice onto the teabags) and place one tea bag on top of the darkened circle under each eye. Remove the tea bags after 15 or 20 minutes.
Dark Circle Remedy 2.
Crush 1 tablespoon of any of the following herbs (can make a mixture) of basil, cilantro, parsley into a mashed mix of any mix of the following tomatoes, cucumber, cabbage, spinach and blend well. Apply a little around your eye ares, leave on for ten minutes then wash off. Repeat daily.
Dark Circle Remedy 3.
1/4 cup of soybean oil and/or almond oil. Add crushed parsley, basil and or cilantro leaves and a 1 inch cube of cucumber to this oil and leave soaking as an infusion. You can also add lemon or orange zest (skin) for a very powerful anti-dark circles remedy.

I was told there are different reasons by a Dr. and that mine were caused by my pigmentation and being exposed to a lot of sun when I was younger. Once these pigments have been exposed to the sun they don't lighten up.(They can be under your eyes but also other areas of the body) I was told being mixed race can increase the chance of having this kind of dark skin areas including under the eyes. I was adopted and didn't know until I had a genetics test years later. In other words in my case its partly genetic and partly due to Sun exposure. Once the Sun exposure has happened these pigments in certain parts of the body don't go back to their original lighter color. I was told to wear sun block clear under my eyes when I go out to prevent them from getting darker.
