Depends its a pure pit bull. And if they paid for any shots they might want a little bit of money back on that so they add it to the price of the dog. And yes that is a very reasonable price for a dog.
Rescue! Check your local animal control or shelter! Poor pittie babies get put to sleep every day. I know from experience, rescues are the bet dogs on the planet. They are so grateful as loving, more so than any purebred from a breeder I've ever had. A lot of the time they aren't worth the money. You pay so much for a dog and end up spending so much more on vet bills because pure bred dogs usually have a lot of health issues. I've worked at a veterinary hospital for 3 years and we always see the pure bred dogs for problems more than the mutts. I can almost assure you that you would be able to find a gorgeous pibble pup in animal control or through a rescue (there are so many for pitbulls!) and their fees can range $50-$150. Rescue! You won't regret it :)
