Bought a new stove. Do I need special cookware to protect the smooth top ceramic glass (not induction) electric range?
You will have to use special cookware on the cook top in order to prevent the smooth ceramic glass. Avoid cookware made of cast iron. It is also best to avoid cookware that is made of ceramic or stoneware. No!Well maybe.Just ask someone else.
No, regular cookware with smooth bottoms is fine. They don't scratch the glass. (But cast iron cookware might be a bad option. They tend to be rough surfaced. And very heavy. Could crack the glass if dropped.)
No just don't slide the pots and pans around on the surface.
Regular pots and pans are fine. Cast iron actually will not heat up on it.
