What is a good way to get rid of soreness?

I basically just started track and now my thighs and back are sore. Are there any good ways to get rid of the sore feeling?

Stretch through the soreness.

After practice, always do a warm-down: like not a jog or a sprint but in between to get rid of the acid build-up

Potassium should help, and a pain reliever. and try not to push so hard for a day or two until you are back into the routine of track again.

Stretching is a great way to help with the pain. So is using a heating pad. And getting in a bathtub full of hot water with epsom salts and soaking helps so much with sore, aching muscles. Go a little bit easier on you running for a day or two and they'll finally go away.

its only sore because your stretching the muscle, take a hot shower it loosens your muscles, also stretch in a very warm place so you dont hurt yourself anymore, or pull a muscle worse pain ever lol. hope this helped!

I used a vibrating massage pad on sore muscles and other sports pain for many years. These days I use the vibrating unit on my wife and myself on a daily basis to drive pain and discomfort away. The low amplitude, high speed vibrations stimulate the movement of lymph, which reduces the pressures within the muscles and carries away waste-products from your physical activity. The brand-name on my hand unit is "Niagara" Safe, rapid and VERY convenient....

Alternate heat and cold. Any injury should be treated with RICE for the first 24 hours. Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation = RICE. Then add the heat. Do about 20 minutes of each.
