Minimum wage per kid per hour? Are you all crazy? What rich neighborhoods are these answers coming from? Teachers (who are professionals, no less) that have to put up with umpteen kids at a time don't make nearly that much. I live in a low income area, and for daycare you will expect to pay $20 or so per kid per DAY. So, if you're just babysitting for a couple kids for an evening, for example, and they give you $20, I'd say that's plenty fair. In most places, a babysitter asking for $7 an hour per kid is laughable and you definitely won't get hired at that price. Unless you're in a very affluent area, you really need to rethink this.
It really depends on how many kids there are and how long you are babysitting them. Sometimes their ages also matter. I would say that if you are babysitting a child under a year old, it should be at least 15 dollars for an hour. If the kid is over a year to around the age of four, it mostly depends on their behavior. I think around 20 dollars would be could for an average behaving child. Then from four to nine it should be 15 or less, it really is fair considering most kids around nine just needs some macaroni or a cracker from time to time, and just go play on their own. Anyone older than nine should be 10 dollars. Don't pressure anyone you are babysitting for to match up the money perfectly, if they offer you 50 dollars for two kids under five, take it and don't ask questions.
Minimum wage.It all depends on the family size and how much attention the kid needs. I had a babysitting job were I only got paid $2.00 and hour which is way too little. I'd play with him for 5 hours while his parent partied and I'd only earn $10.
Im a nanny and i began, off as a babysitter i would say if its a baby maybe you should get payed 7 bucks an hour,or if its 5 and up maybe 2 bucks an hour if for a long tim just right off the bat 50 buck(:
when i was doing it i made out at 5 an hour with a three year whom acted 1 and wasnt even potty trained but depending on time of day and notice id charge different for instence often id go in at 2 am and stop at 6 at night morning hours 10$ night 10$ midday or long notice 5$ short notice an extra 2$ ph
I baby sit all the time and I just normally get paid about 6 dollars an hour. If it’s for an evening though it’s normally about 20 to 40 dollars for the whole evening. The best way to do it though is to just let the parents pay you what they want because they know how hard it can be to look after the kids and will pay you fairly almost every time the times they don’t is when they forget to get cash on the way back or have lost their cheek book.
