Whether you can deduct medical expenses from your taxable income is dependent on the amount of the expense. The IRS allows you to deduct medical expenses exceeding 7.5% of your adjusted gross income. You don't have to and unless you have enough deductions to file a schedule A and have more deductions than a standard will give you, it's not worth deducting them
