How can you start a community of largemouth bass in a man-made pond?

When the builders were building my house they made a medium sized pond. there's nothing living in it except maybe frogs. if I wanna fish for bass in it, how can I start a big family of them?

Have your water checked first, you can take a sample to a lab or your closest DNR to ensure that the pond isn't polluted or oozing heavy metal. Contact the DNR, your local fish and game commission, or any local fishing clubs. They can provide you with the info that you're looking for & also give or sell you fish to get started. You could go to your local lake catch fish and dump them into your pond, sometimes it works fine other times they die. Talk to the pros they'll hook you up-yes pun intended

Make sure you don't put so many in there the food supply can't support them.

You should never fish in a man made pond. It has no new water coming in, so the fish and other animals would pollute the water, and get disease. Then, you would ingest it and get sick as well.

Could I just catch a bunch of bass in a river and then put like 3 or 4 in it to make babies and what not? Could I start it that way?

You could try just catching some and putting them in, but you also have to make sure there's the right food available and some other factors. Check out www.dunnsfishfarm.com for a lot of info, and they also will answer your questions. If nothing else it will give you an idea of how to do this successfully.Good luck and Have fun!:-)
