Why was martin Luther king jr s decision to be nonviolent important

Martin Luther King Jr's decision and way of life was to teach others a lesson and become an inspiration. King Jr. has indeed inspired many along with a lot of African Americans for standing up and doing what was right. He was sick of discrimination and the people who thought they were inferior to his nationality. His strategy for solving things did not include violence. This was a good thing because it shows that he was the better person and that he did not have to be evil to get what African Americans and our nation deserved.

Because if he didn't it would be illegal and because more people would support a peaceful march instead of a violent one.

His hero was Gandhi. Gandhi never believed in violence. That's why Dr.King always led a peaceful march. Just like Gandhi, Dr.King believed that violence should never be the answer.
