Yes, it is important. A good introductory paragraph is needed for every paper. It gives the reader a reason to read your paper. It must be captivating in order to capture multiple readers' attention and for your opinion to be heard. :)

yes...introduction is really important because it tells what your writing about and most people read an article if the introduction is a catchy one...

Very important. You need to have an interesting fact or opinion in your introduction to make readers interested and want to read more of your paper. If you don't, your readers might lose interest and not read your whole paper.

so important because you really want to hook the reader in so they don't get bored right away. you want to keep them enjoyed so their dying to know what's happening next. (:
