I really like my friend but I want to be more than friends. She's older than me and has a boyfriend. What should I do?

she's a grade level above me.

she is currently out of reach, when and if her current relationship ends, then pursue her. But for now, if you are truly her friend, and want what is best for her, you will leave it be, and allow her to choose what is best for her happiness, that includes the case of relationships.

I wouldn't interfere with that until her and her boyfriend break-up. But, even after that for a while you'll have to give her some time. Then again, you should tell her how you feel at this very moment. But, if you express those feelings for her or let her know how you feel, things are going to be awkward. You can be risking a friendship if you tell her how you feel for her. I dated one of my friends and we are no longer together. We go to the same school and it is now VERY awkward and we no longer communicate anymore. I honestly wished that never happened because I ruined a good friendship.

You could always tell her how you feel, but that risks the relationship. My belief is, people have a right to choose who they want to be with at any time whether in a relationship or not.

You need to stop entertaining the idea of wanting more than a friendship while she has a boyfriend. It is disrespectful to him.

Be friends ... Write down your feelings but don't interfere with their relationship
See what time brings
Good luck

Why oh why does every man gotta like his friends that are girls? Sounds like you're stuck in the friend zone dear. Not going to lie there will be a slim chance in order for her to date you considering you two are good friends. Why? One, because if you two do ended up going out with each other it may or may not work in your favor and will ruin a perfectly good friendship. Secondly, you guys are friends for a reason and not together or else you two would have hooked up by now. Thirdly, just remain friends and she is after all in a relationship with another guy. Respect that as a friend, since there is nothing more important then being respectful to others. Lastly, not saying friends can't date, but it is always a 30% chance for it working out. I am 30 by now and have seen so many friendships get destroyed because my girlfriends decided to date their best guy friends. not only that i have experienced it myself where my guy friend would ask me out over and over again and again it got so annoyingly awkward to the point he disapeared well he was immature because he was waaay younger than me. Your friends for a reason and if it is meant to be it'll happen. Just hope for the best abd prepare for the worst if you two actually decide to try it out. As of now just be her friend and RESPECT her current relationship with someone else. That is the mature thing to do and she'll respect you more for that. All in all, I am not trying to burst your bubble here but it is reality the way life is sometimes. instead of waiting around for her to break-up with her current beau. Date other girls and who knows maybe she'll see how you treat your girlfriends and start to miss you, but right now for crying out loud be her friend. how hard can that be right?
