My answer is based on my Christian faith.
The Bible tells us that there is not only life after death, but eternal life so glorious that "no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him" (1 Corinthians 2:9). Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, came to the earth to give us this gift of eternal life.
The resurrection of Christ is the cornerstone of the Christian faith. Because Christ was raised from the dead, we can have faith that we, too, will be resurrected. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the ultimate proof of life after death. Christ was only the first of a great harvest of those who will be raised to life again. Physical death came through one man, Adam, to whom we are all related. But all who have been adopted into God's family through faith in Jesus Christ will be given new life (1 Corinthians 15:20-22). Just as God raised up Jesus' body, so will our bodies be resurrected upon Jesus' return (1 Corinthians 6:14).
The Bible says that it is appointed for us to die only once, and after that will come judgment (Hebrews 9:27). Those who have been made righteous by faith in Christ will go into eternal life in heaven, but those who reject Christ as Savior will be sent to eternal punishment in hell (Matthew 25:46).

Our prophet Mohammad said:
"Allah said, 'I have prepared for My pious worshipers such things as no eye has ever seen, no ear has ever heard of, and nobody has ever thought of. All that is reserved, besides which, all that you have seen, is nothing." Then he recited:-- 'No soul knows what is kept hidden (in reserve) for them of joy as a reward for what they used to do.'
In reality we, as Muslims, believe that Allah had informed Moses and his people about a place 'which no eye has seen, no ear has heard and no human mind has perceived.'

The evidence for this is the following narration;

Quote:
It is reported on the authority of al-Mughira b. Shu'ba that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said:

Moses asked his Lord: Who amongst the inhabitants of Paradise is the lowest to rank? He (Allah) said:

The person who would be admitted into Paradise last of all among those deserving of Paradise who are admitted to it. I would be said to him: Enter Paradise. He would say: O my Lord! how (should I enter) while the people have settled in their apartments and taken the shares (portions)? It would be said to him: Would you be pleased if there be for you like the kingdom of a king amongst the kings of the world? He would say: I am pleased my Lord. He (Allah) would say: For you is that, and like that, and like that, and like that, and that. He would say at the fifth (point): I am well pleased. My Lord. He (Allah) would say: It is for you and, ten times like it, and for you is what your self desires and your eye enjoys. He would say: I am well pleased, my Lord.

He (Moses) said: (Which is) the highest of their (inhabitants of Paradise) ranks? He (Allah) said:

They are those whom I choose. I establish their honour with My own hand and then set a seal over it (and they would be blessed with Bounties) which no eye has seen, no ear has heard and no human mind has perceived: and this is sub- stantiated by the Book of Allah, Exalted and Great:" So no soul knows what delight of the eye is hidden for them; a reward for what they did" (xxxii. 17).

Saheeh Muslim, Kitaab al-Emaan, no.363.
It is interesting to note that this conversation between Allaah and Musa is narrated in the book of Faith and not in the Book dedicated to Paradise. In short; long time before Paul came along, and it still hasn't been established from WHERE he got this qoute from, the children of Israel (the Jews) were informed about a place which 'which no eye has seen, no ear has heard and no human mind has perceived.'

Yes, there is a life after death, either you go to heaven or hell, depend on your faith and your works in your life.
And we have to understand always to God Almighty, and death to the other ...And no one safe from death.
And also we have to understand that fear of death is of two types:
First: it is the nature of human beings is not blameworthy.Death no one can prevent.
Second: blameworthy so the person be careful to stay in his life just for enjoying its pleasures and desires, oblivious to the day of resurrection and related punishment and reward.

There is life after death. If you know Jesus as savior... You have the promise of heaven and being with them if they are believers.
1st Cirinthians 15:20 says....
19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

Your situation is the same that has affected past generations, tribes and civilizations for centuries. The concept of no life after death is hard to bear so past people would create their own ideas of where we go where we die. Christians have heaven. Vikings had Valhalla. Hindis have reincarnation.
The idea that we die and nothing else is hard, and in all honesty is disappointing but it is the truth.
NDE's are not real. During times of extreme trauma or seizures the brain can create situations and objects in the person's mind that aren't even there. We can create NDE's by using electros to the brain.
When we die, we die. Nothing else, no heaven, no hell. The concept is hard but it makes life all that more worth while. This is what we are and ever will be. In our present day bodies. We need to make the most of it. The best way to truly live forever is make a reputation with fellow humans and your legacy will live on for eternity.

thank you for answering, but you and me have no proof that heaven exists or no proof that it doesnt,if you feel comfortable to answer this please do, why do you have no belief in heaven or an afterlife? and if this is not too personal, what religion are you, still thank you
Report as
1) That was the nicest reply I have ever got on ask.com so thanks :)
2) The proof that heaven doesn't exist comes from our species as humans, the evolution in the belief of an afterlife, and culture.
We as humans are basically just brains, everything that goes into running out body I'd to contribute to keep that brain alive. You, who you are, your personality, memories, identity comes from your brain and only that. There is no 'souls', our personality and thoughts can be changed by affecting the brain, not by changing the soul. The brain is essentially a computer, do computers go to heaven? No.
The next argument is in evolution. We all know evolution is real, so the question here is? When did humans be upgraded enough to deserve to live forever? And with that, where is the line that determines who can and can't go to heaven? Protozoa, ants, fish, mammals? Where is the line?
Report as
3) All past people have had their own version of an afterlife? Did they have a legitimate reason for believing in their afterlife? And since our version of an afterlife is older than the Vikings what makes our version any more legitimate than everyone else's? Or what makes anyone's legitimate?

There are many religions and many different beliefs and more than likely no two people will agree to the same answer. you are 13, take the time to read different takes on the subject. Yes, I believe so; and the longer I live I believe it with more conviction. God has put eternity into our hearts. We were made for eternity; and we will live forever, even after the body dies.

Yes, you should be concerned, for our eternity destiny, according the Christian worldview, is based on one thing and it can only be done in this life. You must be perfect. All religions offer a set of rules, laws, etc that a person is to do. Christianity alone offers a solution that has already been done. Jesus Christ lived the life we could not live, died for our sins in our place, and rose again to conquer sin and death.

The Bible says, "Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery."

This speaks of Jesus, Who can deliver anyone from the fear of death. Begin reading the Gospel of John and find a mature pastor, elder, Christian who can further explain how to become a Christian. I pray you find the peace that millions have come to know.

As the Catechism says, death puts an end to human life as the time open to either accepting or rejecting the divine grace manifested in Christ. In other words there are no opportunities to grow in holiness, no second chances. After we die we immediately stand before the judgement seat of Jesus and He will reward us based on how we have lived our lives, on how we have responded to the blessings and graces He gave us. This is called the particular judgement, because it refers to each of us individually. If we have died in the state of grace, we will go to Heaven or spend some time in purgatory. If we have died in a state of mortal sin, we will immediately go to Hell. Many of our culture are afraid of death. Why? Probably because they do not really grasp the meaning of life. We need to prepare ourselves for death by living our lives as Jesus calls us to, by loving Him with all our strength and loving our neighbors as ourselves. (My answer continues in the comments)

Many of the great saints longed for their time on earth to come to an end so that they could go home to be with the Lord. They were unafraid of death because they understood the purpose of life and lived it: They loved.
The meaning of life is love: giving love and accepting love. Don't be afraid of death - death is only the beginning.

Hope this helps! - ManOfKnowledge

Jesus didn't deny that all men would die physically. Nevertheless, he was teaching them that at the point of physical death the soul leaves the body and ascends to another dwelling place. The life of the soul continues uninterrupted by the physical death of the body. This is all possible because Jesus laid down his life down for the sheep. He arose from the dead, thereby, eliminating the sting of death for all those who believe in him. He provided us an opportunity to be righteous. He satisfied the cry of his Father's pure heart for justice and he permanently shut the gates of hell to those who are stamped with his image. Therefore, it is irrational for the Christian to fear death when Christ himself has taken away the sting (fear) of death and promised us eternal life.

These are questions that people have thought about for thousands of years. they are important questions. No matter who we are or where we live, answers concern each one of us.
Don't be afraid, Learn what the Bible teaches about death. #1. God is eager to bring back the dead to life.---(Job 14:13-16 ). " Oh, that you would hide me with the dead, and forget me there until your anger ends;
but mark your calendar to think of me again! If a man dies, shall he live again? This thought gives me hope, so that in all my anguish I eagerly await sweet death. You would call me,
and I would come, and you would reward all I do." (Job 14:13-15)
#2 All those in they common grave of mankind will be resurrected. "Don't be so surprised! Indeed the time is coming when all the dead in the graves shall hear the voice of God's Son, and shall rise again--those who have done good, to eternal life; and those who have continued in evil, to judgement." (John 5:28-29. Living Bible. The Bibles resurrection accounts give us a sure hope.---"Roll the stone aside, " Jesus told them. But Martha, the dead men's sister, said, By now the smell will be terrible, for he has been dead four days." But didn't I tell you that you will see a wonderful miracle from God if you believe? Jesus asked her. So that rolled the stone aside. Then Jesus looked up to heaven and said , "Father, thank you for hearing me." (John 11:39-44). Living Bible. The Bible says " but the meek shall possess the land, and delight themselves in abundant prosperity.( Psalms 37:11). Revised Standard Version. Knowing the truth about death is Beneficial. Does your belief agree with what the Bible teaches about the dead? Example:
Acts 2:27 "You will not leave my soul in HELL or let the body of your Holy Son decay." (LB). Other bibles use HADES, GRAVE,PIT,SHEOL, the world of the dead. Studying the Bible is very important to come up with the correct answers. HELL is the common grave of mankind, as you see reading the other versions helps you come to that conclusion. You have to prove these things to your self. Even at your young age, wisdom will be give you if you ask for it. (Proverbs 2:1-5)

Death is first mentioned in the Bible at Genesis 2:17. Here God warned the man Adam, "But as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die." Death was the consequence for deliberate disobedience of God's expressed command. What was the alternative. At Genesis 1:28 God gave man this commission, "Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth and subdue it, and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving upon the earth." In short to live out their lives on the beautiful planet that God had created for them. Death. as the consequence would have to be the direct opposite of life. This is confirmed at Ecclesiastes 9:5, "The living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all." Life is consciousness, an understanding and comprehending of our surroundings, death is not. Should we then fear death? No. That death can be combated is proven in Jesus ability to resurrect the dead. (Matthew 28:5-7; Luke 7:11-17; 8:40-56)

God created man and his word answers. Eccl 9:5,6 "For the living Know that they will die, but the dead know nothing at all.......and they know longer have any share in what is done under the sun"
. On the other hand Gods son showed while he was on earth that death was as sleep to him. He described Lazarus as sleeping in death. He resurrected Lazarus back to life demonstrating what he can and will do for deserving mankind in the future. John 17:3 says "this means everlasting life, their coming to know you, the only true God and the one who you sent forth Jesus Christ." We come to know God and his son by learning about them through the scriptures. In this way we learn what is required of us to gain everlasting life on earth in peaceful paradise conditions PS 37:10,11.

Gods word is reliable, truthful and can be trusted!
