Is there a law against photocopying or taking pictures of other people's mail?

My husbands ex has mail (letters) that he left over there and she is photocopying and taking pictures of them

Probably. That sounds illegal, something along the lines of invasion of privacy.

Just the fact of doing it, I don't think so. What she is using the photocopies for could be a different matter. He needs to go and get his mail out of there and make sure everybody has his new address.

if you have the persons permission go for it.. I know its illegal to open someones mail without express permission and it sticks up in court without a problem. best bet is its not yours don't do it
