Is there a lot of fat on ribs?

whenever I eat ribs it always seems like there is more fat than rib.

Yes, they all have a lot of fat. Ribs are not traditionally considered a "good" cut of meat They are actually one of the poorest cuts of meat because they have a lot of fat and are tough and require a lot of cooking to make them tender. This is why they are traditionally used for smoking/bbqing. In the really old days poor people could get ribs pretty cheap they would cook them all day in a pit bbq and by the time they got done with their work they were tender and done.

Good meat/bad meat. Slow cooked or quick grilled. Ribs are delicious.

Depends on pork or beef and how good the cut is.

It totally depends on the type of 'ribs' you are having. Pork ribs generally have more fat, (about 25%), while beef ribs are less fatty, (about 10%), And also depends on the cut.
