A lot of kids walk on their tip-toes for a while and just like thumb-sucking, most will just grow out of it. However, if your child is still doing it past the age of three, there is a risk that the calf muscles and the posture will be damaged. This situation needs specialist attention.
Yes, even if it takes till she's 5 years old for someone in her class to say something mean about it, and she stops. It's not like it's a medical condition, so once someone says something mean she'll probably stop. You know how little kids are they don't know any better..
No she will most likely not grow out of it she may but its not likely I've been walking on my toes for as long as anyone can remember it doesn't hurt her though the worst that could happen is when her friends discover it she'll be teased but its no big deal :)
Yeah she'll most likely grow out of it. I'd ask her why she's doing that out of curiosity. I remember doing that too because I wanted to be a like a pokemon or a dinosaur xD you know those velociraptor feet? Yeah lol
I have a student in my class he is 7 now and when he was in k4 he use to do it allot. his Mom was very worried. all she did was constantly remind him to walk flat and now he's in my class and he walks fine.
At four that could be a bad sign. Sounds like she might have tight heel cords (achilles tendon). You need to see a doctor. She may need physical therapy to stretch them out and many kids with this problem needs leg orthotics for awhile. Dont wait long. Shes still doing it at five definately see a doc.
If you don't feel like you are getting answers speak with an orthopedic doctor, he could have short tendons, also neurological issues that need to be ruled out. In some cases a cast can help. It becomes habit for a lot of kids, he could outgrow it if brought to his attention now that he's old enough to realize.
