You are confusing ignorance for divine inspiration. People that are uneducated about what stars are, or lightning, or even the sun, use the supernatural to explain them, in fact, in their minds these things are supernatural. This need to explain the unknown is the basis for all religions throughout history, add it to the mystery of death and the need to feel special and unique and you have every religion ever created.
They know there is something much greater than them. Also you had asked a question about a river not to long ago, it speaks of people as nations and does speak of people as "waters" rev 16 13-16 and 17:15 just as the famine of the end times will not be for bread but for the word of God. hope this helps and makes since
Worship is a much simpler way of saying praise from the heart. We all know how to do things from the heart because we have emotions. But we all don't know HOW to worship. The reason these people do these things is because of any other, they are raised to. They are surrounded by those who do these things and become curious about them, which then lead them to learning to do these things.
As with many indigenous tribes here in the U.S. it seems they have a deeper understanding of nature that fosters respect and an understanding that exceeds the most learned among us. For some unknown reason they simply accept the fact that all things were put her by the great spirit, whatever to them that might be. And theirs is the truest faith I've ever seen. Always accepting things as they are, and not what they could be in someone else's eyes.
People worship because there is answers to many questions they have yet to find or to prove through scientific means. For example, why do we die? Is there hope of life after we die? Will war ever be a thing of the past? All these questions require answers. The scriptures state in James 10:23 the following: "I well know, O Jehovah, that to earthling man* his way does not belong. It does not belong to man* who is walking even to direct his step". Humans worship because throughout time we know that man cannot rule man because it never works out for everyone's good. Therefore, humans look for answers to those questions that no man has yet to answer. We can find those answers in the scriptures as stated John 17:3, those that seek to reach a full understanding of Gods will, will inherit eternal life.

God talks to everyone thru the Holy Spirit. It has nothing to do with race, where they live or education. If we who believe in Christ are so stupid then why is it we can understand the bible, something that obviously escapes some (not all) of these self proclaimed intelligent and educated people. Education does not mean they have wisdom. There were none more spiritual and wise than the natives. They couldn't care less how old the earth is, but that we respect it. The educated decided to do otherwise. So here we are with global warming, pollution, trash that can't even break down info the earth piled up etc. That's educated, not wisdom.
Our survival as a species rested in part on our deep-seated, innate desire to understand the world around us. Not knowing that world was fearful and created chaos and worked against the binding of a social group which comes from shared knowledge. If it was decided that an invisible supernatural force was causing calamity, that was more reassuring than pure chaos. It gave humans the reassurance that they might have some control over these forces of nature if they made attempts to communicate and make supplications to this invisible world. Even if the calamities continued to come, at least they could tell themselves it was not for lack of trying to mitigate them. Slowly but surely, our collective knowledge of the universe and our place in it increased, and one by one the superstitions of the past gave way to true understanding. That continues even to this day.
Jehovah created us with a desire to worship him. to praise Him. but he also made us with free will. because of time, free will and imperfection man has turned that desire to worship into worshipping other things money, jobs ,power. Matthew 5:3 ( happy are those conscious of their spiritual need since the kingdom of the heavens belongs to them. ( compare Luke 4:8) all worship and praise belong to Jehovah.
I know what your saying, even some tribes worship a Spirit, never full knowing the truth, in the past. Some have a spiritual awareness. Some people are made of a spirit, of a depth of awakening to this spiritual world. An enlightenment.
It has been noted that man by nature has an instinctive need to worship. As some have already brought out using the Bible Scriptures. Excellent answer, please let me use a example no offense to anyone. For instance those who hold the position of agnostics or atheists may find something lacking if they consider their position closely--rather like a child who is brought up in an orphanage and who feels a sense of loss at never having known his parents. Even such a convinced unbeliever as the great mathematician Bertrand Russell admitted late in life. " I am strangely unhappy because the pattern of my life is complicated, because my nature is hopelessly complicated...The centre of me is always and eternally a terrible pain--a curious wild pain-- a searching for something beyond what the world contains, something transfigured and infinite--a beatific vision -- God -- I do not find it, I do not think it is to be found."
