Yes, it is. It's eighteen years of never knowing what's going to come next, but of dealing with it quickly when it comes, all the while knowing that there are no days off from being a parent, no vacations from it. I'm not saying it's not worth it, but yes, it's hard. And it's not something you should take on without being quite aware of what you're getting into. And it's no different with an adopted child; if you're not going to love the child and care for the child as if you had personally given birth to it or fathered it, don't adopt it.
It's hard and is never at an end. You love them, so therefore, you will always worry about them. For some, like myself, it's worth it. For some of the rest, no. Be sure before you act for the sake of the child and yourself as well.
It's like "Hheeyy" is time to find out what it is to have a child. We were a child also one time and we enjoy it, in my opinion is ok to give another human to enjoy life and to have some body take care of him.
