Satan doesn't bother people who don't believe because they are not doing anything that bothers him. He hates Christians. He does all he can to make Christians suffer and gets others to attack and do his bidding. These are souls he wanted and lost because Christ paid our price. He's a sore loser.
( 11 ) And We have certainly created you, [O Mankind], and given you [human] form. Then We said to the angels, "Prostrate to Adam"; so they prostrated, except for Iblees. He was not of those who prostrated.
( 12 ) [Allah] said, "What prevented you from prostrating when I commanded you?" [Satan] said, "I am better than him. You created me from fire and created him from clay."
( 13 ) [Allah] said, "Descend from Paradise, for it is not for you to be arrogant therein. So get out; indeed, you are of the debased.
( 14 ) [Satan] said, "Reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected."
( 15 ) [Allah] said, "Indeed, you are of those reprieved."
( 16 ) [Satan] said, "Because You have put me in error, I will surely sit in wait for them on Your straight path.
( 17 ) Then I will come to them from before them and from behind them and on their right and on their left, and You will not find most of them grateful [to You]."
( 18 ) [Allah] said, "Get out of Paradise, reproached and expelled. Whoever follows you among them - I will surely fill Hell with you, all together." Quran (7:11-18)
Because we as believers are a threat to Satan's cause, to kill, steal, and destroy, we as believers follow Jesus, who is the way the truth and the life, we open up our mouths and speak the the truth about Jesus, and Satan wants to stumble us, to try to make us doubt our faith so we become less effective as a weapon of spiritual warfare in Gods Army, that's why we as believers must be "sober and be vigilant for the devil our adversary walks around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour.
He hates God and God's people. He has already deceived un-believers, by making them not believe. His work is done with them. Satan is by nature a liar and his primary method with which he attacks human beings is through lies to deceive them into believing something false about God or God's plan in order to get them to rebel against God. He lies about who God is, what God is like, what we are like, what God desires for us to do, how to be saved, etc., etc., etc. This is how he attacks us - through lies. The instrument he uses to spread these lies is unbelievers. These "schemes" or "strategic deception or lies" are ones that will be effective against us if we do not give the proper defense.
Dodgy has it right when he says that if you don't believe in Satan, then Satan can't hurt you. I'd like to take it a little further, by pointing out that if you blame a hurt on Satan, because you believe in him, then you are fitting 'the hurt' into you're own frame of reference. If you didn't believe in Satan, you'd still fall off your bicycle, or whatever, but you wouldn't blame poor old Satan... Once you start blaming Satan for your hurts, it's self-fulfilling - it strengthens your belief, and you get further and further away from being realistic about stuff. That, my good ole Ask pals, is how religion works...
I believe that Satan does not attack non-believers less than believers... But, if you believe that, I cannot argue. Also, I can explain...
Satan hates God. He also hates believers so therefore, if somebody is not on God's team, that makes Satan happy...
Satan would attack the believers more because they are not on his team. To get them to stop believing, he thinks he can just attack us because he thinks eventually we will give up and think that God is not protecting us which makes us stop believing.
Satan would attack the non-believers less because they are already on his team. Meaning that he will not attack them as much.
That's like asking "Why does Darth Vader attack the rebel alliance more than he attacks us?" Because it's not real. It's a fictional story made up by "believers." That isn't satan attacking you, that's your own mind fighting back against the constant stream of cognitive dissonance that you're feeding it.
I actually think it's 50/50, he doesn't attack christians 50% of the time and he doesn't attack non-christians 50% of the time. he's too busy not existing to have time to bother anyone. Superstition seem to be the main part of Christian beliefs.
Definitely. He doesn't usually worry about the nonbelievers, but the believers, especially the ones that are really on fire for God are the ones he attacks the most, because he's afraid of them and can see how God is going to use them to bring him down
I have grown up In a Methodist church. Lately I started cussing and lying and cheating. I don't know why though. I guess I've just been influenced by everyone at my school cause I'm around it ALL the time. It's just become habit I guess. I'm trying to change and grow my relationship with god but I swear after I have my time with god each night I get worse and worse.
He attacks strong believers because hes trying to make you bitter, so you will turn away from God and so you wont go to heaven. So would you rather endure a little here on your short time on earth and spend eternity in heaven being peaceful and happy, or have it good on your 80 years here and be in eternal torture in hell forever? So that's why he attacks believers, but I am strong in my faith.
Because he's mad that we are fighting against his schemes and plotting. Because he really is scared of the power we can receive from God, and he knows that with God we are victorious. Non-believers aren't a threat to him, they unconsciously do what he likes them to do Also (for us believers) Attacks from Satan are God's way to show his glory in us, to let us know to depend entirely on Him, and to seek his presence to arise victorious against Satan's attacks
