When I had young children, I hovered over them, guiding and keeping a watchful eye over them as they learned to avoid dangers such as traffic or strange dogs. As an adult, I do not love my children any less, but I let them experience the joys of crossing streets without having to hold my hand; it's a sign that they have matured, and that I have done a good job of teaching. It is important to trust an adult.

If God cared he would encourage people to stop with bad habits. Do people really want to stop with their bad habits. People want their cake and eat it too. Yes God cares, however if he was to interfere with one's free will, would people be happy with that....probably not. Should God force ones to conduct and behave correctly with morals and the like according to his righteous standards as written throughout his word the Bible. Would he force one against his will that he has freely given?...What do you think?...It's just as jho11381 and Stela317 has said.. " God cares People don't ". Good question though and a great answer in full on this site jw.org. hope you look at it.
?For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother?s womb? my frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place.? When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body.? All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be? (Psalm 139:13-16) Yes, He cares.
God's care for us is immeasurable -- He allowed His only begotten Son to die in our place (John 3:16). When we consider the "riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering" this ought to soften our heart, "knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance" (Rom. 2:3-4). God's care for us will sustain us throughout life, for "we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose" (Rom. 8:28). God's care for us extends beyond the grave and into that home of the soul, for those who "do His commandments" have the right to the tree of life, and "may enter in through the gates into the city" (Rev. 22:14). Do you see any modern jesus going around with followers and using magic to do the impossible?... People today who claim to hear the voice of god live in mental hospitals... Maybe this "god" is dead... Or corrupt... Or gone... Or just never existed...
