Why are the $20 bills in the MAC machine so old in Pittsburgh PA? Average lifespan 25 months? I can't find one less than 4 years old.

Did they stop making them or stop shipping them?

The money in the machine is deposited by the bank so your best bet would be to enquire from them. The life span of the bill is not considered a factor that would make them unfit for use in ATM machines as they are still legal tender.

Thank you. The bank employees said they like beat-up, old bills because they're easier to count. I guess I'm a little paranoid, concerned if the Gov't planned to switch to a global currency, would they stop printing US dollars without notifying the public?
