Why do people act like they care when they really don't?

Most of the people I know try and act like they're all helpful and kind, but when someone's going through a tough time they bully them and give them the cold shoulder.... I'm sure not everyone's like that, but still...

Well, people have different personalities, so this would explain why some of them act like they care when they really don't. When faced with such situations, we sometimes have to learn to accommodate such personalities, particularly if it's people we love or work colleagues.

Just remember that not all people are bad. if you're friends are young it could be an immaturity/insecurity thing. people back away from and avoid challenges and confrontations because they're cowards. Eventually they grow up and face problems. Don't let bad experiences leave you bitter though-most people are good.
