Which of these books would be more fun for a 8th grader to read? A Tale of Two Cities, Pride and Prejudice, or The Bridge over River Kwai?

I value well developed characters over an interesting plotline, I also like novel -like stories rather than metaphors.

Wow. Heavy reading. Pride and Prejudice for a girl, Tale of Two Cites for either a boy or girl. Read Bridge Over the River Kwai only if you really enjoy prisoner of war stories. Its a true story about alied POWs in a Japanese POW camp forced to build a bridge. They knew theyd be executed when it was done so they worked on as slowly as possible to outsmart their captors.

They're all good books ! Hard to choose ! Personally , I would choose The Bridge over The River Kwai ! Tale of Two Cities is mostly written in old English and Pride and Prejudice is a long moody book ! Try The River Kwai first , so much hardship . Great book !

All of them are good books; my favorite of those three is "Tale if Two Cities".
