How many galaxies have been found?

We estimate the number of galaxies in the observable universe by 10^11, or a hundred billion. Of course no one counted, but we did count galaxies in Hubble deep field pictures, and from those number could estimate the total number.

there is 4 million names in the NASA Extragalactic database (NED) so some where around there i think

the amount in existence is estimated to be in the billions. I don't know how many have been counted.
