If theres a click in the engine compartment about as loud as a golf ball hitting a concrete floor, thats the solenoid pushing the starter gear onto the flywheel. The starter motor isnt spinning, but the solenoid moves it into position anyway. This means that the starter motor itself it toast. If there's no click, power isnt even getting to the solenoid, so there's a break/ground in the wire someplace between the battery and the starter solenoid, including the ignition switch. Another easier problem to fix is a dying battery. Alot of newer cars monitor the battery voltage, and if there's anything less than 12 volts (even 11.99V), the computer WILL NOT let the engine turn over. So the little stuff on the dash and sometimes even the headlights and radio will still work, but the car wont start.

The battery is probably dead. The lights working means that the battery isnt 100% dead, but it might as well be. Hope this helped. Star and follow me please
