My car has a bad timing that's making my car not start at all how can I fix it the right way myself without taking it to someone to do it?

when trying to start its acting like its not getting gas and I have to push the petal to the floor to keep it running and as soon as I let up of the gas it shuts off

2002 ford focus and I have tried all of it. The only thing I know of is timing is off since I did change cylinder head gasket forgot to mention that

Why would a head backstroke change the timing?
Did you advance or retard it?
Report as
Head gasket trait that is

Have you changed plugs?

Because the timing belt has to come off in order to get both cams off to get to the head bolts
