Can anybody help me please with bullying boss

Hi, I am fresh immigrant to US who is currently attending a high school.
My dad has been working in the military base as a laborer for about 3 years now
but recently he is depressed and losing weight(about 20 lb in month) because of his boss at the work
my dad told me that the boss is bullying him psychologically. Abusing the fact that my dad does not speak English very well. For example, asking him to do extra work in a rudely and disrespectfully or admonish my dad for not understanding the English instruction even though my dad accomplished the task without any problem.
And so he just made an appointment at the hospital for his depression. It is really hard for me to see my dad suffering when he comes back from the work and in the night he can not go to sleep thinking of his work.
I asked him if he could talk to the labor union but he is fearing that he will loss his job and get in to more trouble because he is minor in this society without any ability to defense himself.
As a son watching my dad, I feel very helpless and bad.
So could you please give us some advice and things that we can do . . . ?

I believe your current predicament would be best addressed by an attorney. The attorney will advice you on the available remedies, if any, and how you will go about remedying the situation. You can also talk to someone from the labor office anonymously and see what they can do for you.

get ur dad to document every incident (time and date) as possible as it will aid his cause should it ever end up in court.
Also... is there a trusted workmate in his work place he can trust and confide in? Does any other employees recieve any type of abuse?
I understand ur dad is still trying to cement his feet with his job ect however at the end of the day that's still considered harrassment!
Unfortunately I'm unfamiliar with the USA work policy/agreements and entitlements but there has to be some type of governing body that will speak for workers rights....
I wish you best of luck and hope this has helped

Umm well at my work my boss is bullying his staff too, what my cousin did (who also worked there) after she resigned she wrote a letter to him listing everything bad he'd done, and he was nice to her from then on, so you could write a letter to them or another thing she's doing is looking into official complaints like workplace bullying organizations and stuff, good luck :)

This is the terrible situation suffered by thousands of immigrants and those employers should be ashamed! There is no way to avoid risking his job, is it possible he could find a different job? Since the impact of this behavior is affecting his life to such a degree, it might be worth his while to quit and find another job. If he is legally here, which I assume he is, there should be a Labor Board in the area that could listen to his complaint and help him out. I'm glad you are trying to help him as he deserves to be treated with fairness and respect. It might be worthwhile to talk to the human resources department, this employer is practicing discrimination and that is against the law.
