I have started my period and my mom told me it was a 28 day cycle-- is it normal for me to NOT have that right off?

Please answer ONLY if you have experiences or you are a health expert!
I started on March 11, 2013. It has been 31 days since my first period. Is this normal?

Yes it can be normal to have a sporadic cycle when you begin your period. Also each woman is different so you may just have a longer cycle. Mine used to be about 30 days.

Do you know when I should start to worry when I don't get it?
(I do think I am about to start..but I am not sure)

Honestly my girl went like 50 days without hers one time, I mean that's rare don't get me wrong, but it can happen... Especially if you're stressed out, or your sleeping pattern is sporadic.

Oh mine used to go months when I was still a teen. Stress can definitely play a role. Over time things became more regular.

ImBNM, I would not worry, but talk to your mom and let her know your concerns. If you decide it is an issue, you should talk to your doctor. I went years with some long breaks between periods.

Irregular periods are very common, especially with your first few. When I got my period, I had it for two months, then had two months off, then two months on again. It was strange. Don't stress about it at all.

Yes it's perfectly normal for the first year to be off schedule.

Absolutely normal. It could take a couple years before they become regulated.
