ok so my mom has a lot of medical issues...she has seizures and nerve problems and stuff....she's left me andy brother around 3 or 4 times and the last time was over Christmas....I mean she just got up in the middle of the night and left....we fight a lot...when we had my stepfathers nieces I had to raise them....that was a few years ago my dad is on the side of the road somewhere so he's not an option but I don't want to live with her I mean I love her but I can't stand her....my grandmother has offered to let me live with her but my stepdad found out and he got mad and yelled at all of us which he is never home he's always fishing or drinking.....do I have the right by law to choose to live with my grandmother? o and btw his nieces got taken away for child abuse and neglect and I'm 13

Caitlyn I'm sorry for what your going through. I think you can choose to live with your grandmother because of the neglect and child abuse of your parents. You need to bring this up to a councilor a someone who is higher of authority, they'll be able to help. And when this goes to court maybe even put a retraining order against your parent(s) that are abusing you. I hope you'll be okay

I'm pretty sure you can live with family
Members if your parents are good parents. You can at 16 in Canada, when your 16 you can live on your own if you want but I wouldn't recommend it seeing as your future will be limited unless you find good
Support that will
Help you. I would just talk to your grandparents and work something
Out. Good luck

Speak with your grandmother, she is the best person to involve, she has the most influence and can help. Going to school, teachers first might make things more complicated. If grandma can't help then take the next step, another trusted adult.

Did your step father legally adopt you? If not, I believe blood relatives/family have more rights than step parents. Maybe your granny needs to contact Children's Protective Services and get legal custody of you. You are an abandon and neglected child and need the support of a loving family. Get help. Talk to your school counselor. She can help you. Good luck. You deserve better.

It might be best to be with your loving granny. Talk to Child Protective Services for legal actions. Good luck. Stay as sweet as you are!

That's what we're here for. We older folks have already experienced what you younger ones are going through, so we've got some " been there-done that" ideas. Hope we help. Good luck.

Laws vary from state to state, country to country. You and Grandma can talk to legal aid in your area (free to low income people) to see what is required.

Laws are laws they are not made on emotional values, they don't understand the sufferings, they change from person to person and state to state, in such a small age you have gone through so many sufferings and ups and downs of the life, I am sorry to know that, I can just pray to Allah to save this little angel from the cruel hands of the world. I will pray for you to have some safe hands of security on your head.
