what are some good ways to get rid of anxiety and depression and hating yourself?

Ive been battling depression and being sad alot it sucks i just really wanna feel beautiful and love myself i know im a good person but for some reason im feeling really insecure and with my body and the way i see myself i feel ugly what are some ways to get rid of these feelings?

See a therapist or do something for someone else and get focus off of yourself for a time. I mean volunteer someplace where they need you.

I get depressed sometimes too. I have to train myself not to think about the negative things. If i can't fix it right now ?! Then i won't worry myself with it. You can only do so much in a day or a lifetime. When I start feeling down I like to put some music on and enjoy the day a little. The key to fighting depression, is finding the fun in everything. Plus the world will punish you enough !!!

Think of others who have problems much worse than yours. You ll be glad to kknow you have a home and a computer and everything else. Depression is highly overrated

don't think about beauty, you can learn some new things like photographing, producing sound, video etc. it will help your mind walk through productivity..maybe now your friends are more interested with physical appearance, when you spend more time with creative interests you will be get in touch with the people who doesn't care appearance but know the value for a brilliant girl:) find new things to busy with, help people to smile :))

Get thee to a medical doctor for a complete physical to rule out any physical causes for your depression. Then ask them to refer you to a specialist for counseling. Depression is a very serious mental disease. It can't be cured, but can be successfully managed with a sound regimen of talk therapy and possibly meds. I know; I suffer from it too. Good luck.

Have you seen a doctor? That would be first step. Volunteer, get out and help the less fortunate, cliche' but it works.
Exercise every day, start running.
Find a new interest, doesn't matter what as long as you are around fun people. Get enough sleep,eat healthy.
Music and good friends to lean on helps. As far as beauty goes, look at people with real disfigurement, real disability, again cliche', but you'll get the message. Good luck !

I've been seing a therapist since I was in 7th grade ( now graduated high school for a year now) I suffer from the same problems they say medicines work but after all these years I have yet to find aomething to work. goodluck to u

I usually listen to happy music or watch a funny movie. I try to watch and listen to positive things.

Aww I'm sorry to hear that Hun, but I'm going through the same thing as you. Be strong. When you catch yourself thinking negative, stop it immediately no matter what. Negative thinking plays a huge part in both anxiety and depression! I understand how hard it is to go through all this. It is so hard but not impossible. So put some effort into it! I hope you can get over your anxiety and depression soon. I don't know if my answer exactly helped you but I hope it made you feel a little better.
