Probably, Torngren. Once the idea of a god becomes personalised, many believers will consider that the rest of us to have rejected "him" rather than simply discounting the possibility that such a being exists.
I suppose it's a little like somebody being dismissive of the person you love. The normal reaction would be either to extol their virtue or to denigrate the dismisser. In terms of your question that leads to angry reactions from the believers (of whichever religion) and predictable responses from the unbelievers.
Those of faith presume (or is it assume?) that everyone knows there is a God, leaving a narrow view that only the denial of this God as the only plausible reason for not worshipping him/it. In this thinking, there can be no such thing as not believing, only not accepting. It amounts to blind prejudice really.
I think that a lot of gay people reject God,believing that God rejects them,we don't always like what the bible has to say,but we need to accept them as truth, regardless if we like them or not,I think they have problems with authority, and they want things there way,so they deny God,that's what I think,or blame him.
Yes, at least most of them do. When they do this, they fail to understand what an atheist or any non believer is. You cannot reject something that doesn't exist. In the theist mind, they cannot comprehend their god not existing. So in a world where your god is absolutely real and others don't agree with your belief, the only reason for their disagreement has to be their rejection of the god the theist worships. It's not that they don't believe because you can't not believe in a god that is so evident throughout the world. It can only be that they don't like god and so they reject and rebel against it. I wouldn't even attempt to count how many christians on here that have said "I don't believe in atheists". In reality, this is all totally incorrect thinking but this is how many theists see it.
We have free will to believe what we want, but know that everyone will be judged wether you believe or not and Jesus has paid for your sins if you except that gift. If you struggle with your belief ask in faith for him to reveal himself and know that he will. He wants you, a mustard seed if faith is all it takes.
In some places in the world if you reject their 'god' they personally send you to Hell by cutting off your head! In our search for happiness we all tend to worship something. I think Christianity in general feels only a great sadness for those who refuse, or reject, the wonderful offer of eternal Paradise for no apparent reason.
