I have wondered this myself... I think it is because it is intended for humans, our fellow kind. While loveing others and even our enemies will go along way as well as make a difference other people's lives, I do not think that showing any love to Satan and his demon followers will do any good. Since his only goal and will for existence is to destroy the Kingdom of God. Anyway, thats my input on this matter.
I think He means love those who persecute you as in people who are mean to you but satan nd his demons are bad nd i think we should LOVE GOD not satan and his demons cuz then its like we have two gods and we only have one which is JESUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
He said that because at that time in that place, there were people who considered other human beings their enemies. And also human beings who considered themselves enemioes of others. In that way, we must love our enemies, because God loves them, The reason, well Southernboy said it. Gby
Beneath the structure called “Christianity” -- Father, Son, Holy Ghost and Satan, are the four cornerstones. How could a being of infinite wisdom and goodness create a rival, knowing that the rival would fill perdition with countless souls to eternal pain? And we are called to get upon our knees and tell him that he is good, that he is merciful, and that he is love!
I read the bible and find that god so loved the world that he decided to damn majority of mankind to hell; that seeing the lack of thrill god had deliberately put an equally powerful Satan - a Spider weaving webs to catch human souls - to act as his bloodhound, and to play havocs with our lives! If God created all things, he must have been the Creator of Satan. Bible says Satan is the father of lies, & God is the father of Satan -- that is to say, the grandfather of lies.
This God says to me, "Forgive your enemies." I say, "I do"; but he says, "I will damn mine." I think god ought to be as honest as he asks us to be. If he asks me to forgive my enemies he should forgive his. All I ask is that this God should act according to his own doctrine. If I am to forgive enemies, mustn't God be generous enough to forgive his!
God means other humans. The 'devil' and 'demons' are not human and they have already been judged and sentenced. They are simply waiting for their sentence to be fulfilled at the end of time. They are evil incarnate. We dont need to love the enemies of God.
Meaning humans, because we all sin,and if you want God to forgive you for your sins you first must forgive others that have sinned against you,if you don't forgive others, then God won't forgive you, forgiving benefits you to go forward spiritually.if you repay evil with evil then you would be no better.
God cannot love that which is evil and unholy, and Satan embodies all of that.Jesus' command that we love our enemies (Matthew 5:44) is meant to govern interpersonal relationships in this world. We love God, and we love people (even our enemies), who are made in God's image. Angels are not made in God's image. We are never told to love the holy angels, and we are certainly never told to love the evil angels. Since Satan is everything that is antithetical to the God we love, we cannot love Satan. If we loved Satan, we would be forced to hate God, because holiness is the opposite of sin. Read more: http://www.gotquestions.org/does-God-love-Satan.html#ixzz2QG4dt1tu
