I am at my wits end.Three to four nights a week I am awoke by a vibration noise (coming from the ground only) always between 1 to 3 AM.

There is a refinery by my house in Romeoville Il. but it is on private property so I cannot even prove its coming from there. What do I do? How do i isolate that darn signal? Please help.TY BTW the noise is always on for six seconds, off for three.if it was a continuous vibrating noise i prolly would even notice

Answer this question...So I pulled Romeoville up on google maps and looks like there is quite a bit of heavy industry in your city, and the vibration may be something that has been going on for 40 or 50 years. Just something you have to live with.

It might be a train a few miles away that's making all of the vibration.

Is there a foundry nearby within four or five miles? Maybe they are running a graveyard shift there.

Get a small seismic monitor.

Call your local council. It may be classed as noise pollution & it may be able to be banned from whatever it is doing at that time in the morning. Maybe a petition signed from you & neighbours may help.

Do you hear it when you go outside ? Do others in your home or neighbors hear it? You'd need to find the source in order to do anything about it. There maybe isn't anything you can do about it.
