Fish should have no smell, or should smell like clean water, cucumbers or perhaps brine water. It should not have a different smell; it if does, it is likely putrescene, a smell similar to that given off cadavers, and it is decay.
Always go to a reputable sushi restaurant. Do research on the restaurant. Check to see if there's ever been any negative reviews. I'll tell you there's probably more positives. Sushi establishments have lots to lose if they are serving bad fish. Go for it you won't be sorry. It's delish
I agree. If you caught the fish, cleaned it immediately, and froze it yourself, then thawed it in fridge in one day and it smells a little fishy. It probably is okay. You can soak fish is milk to make it less fishy tasting also. Cats love the milk afterward. :)))
