Hi there, well I started puberty at age 12 when I was about 5'1. I grew 4" that year and was 5'5 on my 13th birthday. My peak height velocity was at 13.5 and I grew about 6" that year so I was 5'11 when I was 14 I had my final spurt at 15 when I grew from 5'11-6'1.5, now I'm exactly 6'2 and I feel almost too tall most of the time! So I would say you grow on average 10" from when you just start puberty, so lets say if someone's 5'0 at the start they would probably end up around 5'10 as an adult. And I think most people have 3 major growth spurts. I had all mine from 13-15. However it does matter when you start puberty because 2 of my good friends were about 5'7 and 5'8 at 12 but ended up 5'9 and 5'10 as adults, so if you start puberty later then you will probably end up taller than others.
During a growth spurt, you will grow between 2 and 10 inches in a few short years. The growth will typically start in your feet and hands, and then the rest of your body will follow. You will eventually level out and stop when you have attained your adult height.
