Psalms 90 says our days are three score and ten = 70.. Because we are so evil. Any after that are a bonus. We get extra life promised by a commandment : HONOR YOUR FATHER And MOTHER THAT YOUR DAYS MAY BE LONG. 10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. the old testament time is over .. we are under the new
Depends on what time period. Before the flood it was in the 900's but after the flood life spans began to dwindle rapidly. Abraham was 175 at his death, Sarah 127. Moses died at 120 years old. King David died at around 70 years and was spoken of as elderly then. So already lifespans were much shortened. By the New Testament times life spans had become much shortened and life expectancies were around 45-50 years. If im correct i believe the average life expectancy continued to decrease slightly through the middle ages then finally began to gradually increase again with the Renaisance and more rapidly as modern medicine began to improve.
