Our soul will go to heaven and we will be judged by God Almighty on the decisions we made and how we lived our life while here on earth. Take care and trust in our Lord.

You do not have a soul, you are a living soul. When you die the breath of life given by God to make you a living soul returns to God, your body is, for the most part is placed in a grave to await the resurrection and judgement day.

Jesus, to the thief on the cross, "Truly I tell you, TODAY you will be with me in paradise" but his body would surely be in the grave on that day. Paul said, " To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." Whatever you think this means, it clearly describes a separation that can occur between the body and the soul. Yes, we have a soul. One clear indication of the soul for me,is that the moment before someone dies, and the moment after they die, the body is essentially the same. The life that leaves is the soul. Resurrection is the act of reuniting of body with soul.
Report as
Your lifeless, soulless body waits in your place for the day of judgement? And the soul is what? Kicking it in Heaven until then? Say God disproves of your performance during this test He set up? You get removed from Heaven on Judgement Day?
Report as
This is what I think too! Did you think of this on your own or did you read it or hear somewhere? It only makes sense, it seems like you instantly are judged because time doesn't matter when you are lifeless and the next time you regain consciousness is judgement day.
Report as
Oh, don't get me wrong, Liem. I'm one of those sensible people who don't actually buy that rubbish.

And g, you realize you're trying to have it both ways. If when the body died it lost mass or something, you'd claim that was the soul leaving. It doesn't lose anything, so you claim that's proof of a soul?

I assume a soul is just the brain. It will decompose and re-enter the biosphere via providing nutrients for plants, scavenging animals or microbes.

Helpful (2) Fun (1) Thanks for voting Comments (5)
Report as
That is correct for the brain. But we're talking about the soul - the seat of our emotions, personality and intellect. The one that is unable to be positively identified, yet we know is there.
Report as
Our emotions are found in the brain. Our personality it found in the brain. And our intellect (are you kidding?) is found in the brain. What are all of those if not various forms thoughts take.

They say that the soul cannot be verified scientifically, but any characteristic they posit for evidence of the soul turns out to be scientifically ..... nullified. It's not that it cannot be verified, it's that it's the opposite.
Report as
*is...........frustration!
Report as
The brain shows the REACTION of the emotion, not the emotion itself, Novel. Same with all the feelings and thoughts. It does not CAUSE those feeling/emotions unless under extenuating circumstances (such as electrical shock, medical stimulation, etc., which causes a defect). Your brain is not "YOU" (or your SELF).

Genesis 2:7...Adam didn't recieve a soul. He was dust and God breathed into him the breath of life and Adam BECAME a living soul. In other words, his brain was turned on like when you turn your computer. Without the breath of life, he would be a dead soul (brain dead)...

I believe that we "return to the dust from which [we] were taken." [Genesis 2]This is God's "no!" to human rebellion. We are not "like God." We are not immortal. But I believe that God also has a "nevertheless," connected with "neither death nor life, ...nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus." [Romans 8] But the immortality we will inherit is not of our own nature. It is the gift of God.

ADL1994

For me, if I die believing that there was, and is, a God an it turns out that there isn't- my only option is a type of Oblivion. But if there is a God and I die believing that there was, I will face an individual Judgment and will wait for the General Judgment, wherever I may be, Heaven or Hell.

And that's where Jesus comes in. If your a Christian, instead of YOU being judged, Jesus is there in your stead and He already paid the price for your judgement! That is the Good News!

thats up to god to decide if you made up to heaven or not

Helpful (3) Fun (1) Thanks for voting Comments (1)

He's already decided. It's in the Bible. Receive the free gift of His Son, Jesus, and when the time of judgement comes, Jesus will stand in for you, and He's already paid the price for your sin...
Has nothing to do with earning it, but it has everything to do with your personal relationship with Jesus. Accept Jesus, go to heaven.

The Bible has the answer to this question.

Ezek. 18:4: “Look! All the souls—to me they belong. As the soul of the father so likewise the soul of the son—to me they belong. The soul* that is sinning—it itself will die.”

Ps. 146:4: “His spirit [Hebrew, from ru?ach] goes out, he goes back to his ground; in that day his thoughts do perish.”

5 For the living are conscious that they will die;*+ but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all,*+ neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten.+

Therefore, the soul does not live on, as many believe. The Bible clearly states that the soul dies.

Hope I helped!

Well, I guess it's really more of our spirits that live on - however, part of our soul must still be around, because we will know our loved ones when we see them again, and they will know us. Hmmmmm...

That depends... If you look at it from the Catholic mindset there is Heaven, Purgatory, and Hell. Purgatory is where you go "in between" Heaven and Hell. Look at it this way. Heaven is such a Holy place. We are people, and no one is perfect, so our souls are still sinful. When we die, we may go to Purgatory if our soul needs purification. If not, we go to Heaven or Hell.

The Bible brings out how the person is a "soul" for example at Genesis 2:7 Adam became a "living soul." With that the Bible brings out how the soul (since it is the person) can die, for example at Ezekiel 18:4 the Bible says that the soul that is sinning it itself will die. Ecclesiastes 9:5 says the living are conscious that they will die but as for the dead they are conscious of nothing at all. As living people we are conscious of the fact that one day we will die but the dead are conscious of nothing at all. Therefore, the soul is not something separate from the person but it is the person, and it dies at death.

Ecclesiastes 9:5 says, "For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all." They are not in any pain. They're in a state of inactivity.

However, the Bible does promise us that we will be able to see our dead loved ones again. Acts 24:15 says, “there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.”

For mor information on this topic, I suggest reading, “Real Hope for Your Loved Ones Who Have Died” found here:

I hope this helps!
