After the death Allah will demand an account of all of your good and bad actions on the day of judgement then He will decide what to do with you . Whether to put you in heaven or hell ! This is the belief of Muslims !
The energy stored in your body by the consumption of food, which was grown by the light energy from our sun, is ingested by the bacteria in and outside of your body; which in turn is consumed by other forms of life and so on and so on and so on. As for your consciousness, that evaporates as your brain dies.
Well from what we can observe, our bodies decompose and return to the ground. As for our consciousness? We don't know, but I'm assuming it will be how you felt before the sperm met the egg. Do you remember anything? Did you have anything feeling? Do you have any conscious memories of what happened?
There is no honest "truth" About what happens when you die. Of course, you are not in your physical body anymore, but we do not have the answer to "where" we exactly go. I truthfully, go with Heaven or Hell.
In Islam, the life is to worship Allah. The term "Worship" covers all acts of obedience to Allah. The true Muslim sticks to this purpose throughout all the stages of his life, whether he is a child, adolescent, adult, or an old man. Worshipping Allah makes life purposeful and meaningful, especially within the framework of Islam. According to Islam this worldly life is just a short stage of our life. Then there is the other life. The boundary between the first and second life is the death stage, which is a transitory stage to the second life. The type of life in the second stage a person deserves depends on his deeds in the first life. At the end of the death stage comes the day of judgment. On this day, Allah rewards or punishes people according to their deeds in the first life. Words I love to Conclude. It is time to find out about Islam. It is time to find out about the truth by using your own Mind. A Time for Thought. A Time for Change. A Time for Action.
By the way your question is worded, it sounds like you suspect that people have been lying to you about what happens after we die. The absolute truth is that nobody knows for sure. All people can tell you is what they think and what they have been told.
First our immaterial soul and spirit will be separated from our physical body. Second, we will immediately receive the judgment that will determine our eternal destiny. Those who have trusted in Christ's payment on the cross for our sins will enter into eternal life in the presence of God. 2 Corinthians 5:8 states, "We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord." There will be no delay in a state of unconsciousness many call "soul sleep." We will immediately be in God's presence. There is no second chance and there is no cycle of reincarnation. Our eternal destiny is determined by the decision we make for Christ here on earth.
No one knows that truth for certain, I could state my truth, I could state my evidence, but I have no facts to present. Nothing exists other than, beliefs, and opinions. In this case all evidence is circumstantial.
According to the Bible in Ecclesiastes 9:5,6 we read: "For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten. Also, their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished, and they have no portion anymore to time indefinite in anything that has to be done under the sun."
These verses tell us that when we die it is like we are in deep sleep. We are completely unaware of our surroundings, our last memory is from the last moment that we were awake.
However, the Bible gives us hope for the future in John 5:28,29: "The hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment."
As the Catechism says, death puts an end to human life as the time open to either accepting or rejecting the divine grace manifested in Christ. In other words there are no opportunities to grow in holiness, no second chances. After we die we immediately stand before the judgement seat of Jesus and He will reward us based on how we have lived our lives, on how we have responded to the blessings and graces He gave us. This is called the particular judgement, because it refers to each of us individually. If we have died in the state of grace, we will go to Heaven or spend some time in purgatory. If we have died in a state of mortal sin, we will immediately go to Hell. Many of our culture are afraid of death. Why? Probably because they do not really grasp the meaning of life. We need to prepare ourselves for death by living our lives as Jesus calls us to, by loving Him with all our strength and loving our neighbors as ourselves. Many of the great saints longed for their time on earth to come to an end so that they could go home to be with the Lord. They were unafraid of death because they understood the purpose of life and lived it: They loved.
Just like anp1215 said, Ecclesiastes 9:5 says that the dead are conscious of nothing at all. So we are in a sleep like state when we die. But it's comforting to know that our Creator, Jehovah God, has promised for us a resurrection in the future. Revelation 21:4 says "and he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." This is a beautiful promise for the future, and it's comforting to know that death does not end it all.
You said you want the truth, not opinion? The only real truth would have to come from the one who created life. That truth is found in God's word the Bible. examine it for yourself.
Gen. 3:19: “In the sweat of your face you will eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For dust you are and to dust you will return.” Eccl. 9:10: “All that your hand finds to do, do with your very power, for there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol [“the grave,” KJ, Kx; “the world of the dead,” TEV], the place to which you are going.”
Condition of the dead? Eccl. 9:5: “The living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all.”
Ps. 146:4: “His spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground; in that day his thoughts [“thoughts,” KJ, 145:4 in Dy; “all his thinking,” NE; “plans,” RS, NAB] do perish.” Ref also www.jw.org
Ecclesiastes 9:5 says that the dead are simply dead and they don't have conscious of anything, they are like in a deep deep sleep. That scripture gives us a sigh of relief because we know that they didn't go to suffer in a hot place or play the harp in heaven, they are simply sleeping and not suffering or enjoying themselves, but the bible also gives us a good hope, John 5:28, 29 states: "Do not marvel of this because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs (graves) will hear there voice and come out." Yes! we can have the opportunity to see our loved ones again, but not in heaven but on earth, and not in the sad conditions we are in but in peace like Psalms 37:10,11 sais: "And just a little while longer and the wicked one will be no more; And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be. But the meek ones (good ones) will posses the EARTH, and they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace." What a wonderful promise and hope! It's not a human or powerful governor that promises to see our loved ones again in peaceful circumstances but our loving and all powerful creator please visit www.jw.org
Allah would send the grave angels to come into your grave they would ask you some questions if you answer those questions right you would be treated with care and respect but if do not answer those questions correctly than the angels will punishment that you will never forget. you will get punished until The Day Of Judgement. This was said in the holy Quran.
At Ecclesiastes 9:5 The Bible talks about how we as living people are conscious of the fact that one day we will die but dead people are not conscious of anything at all. The dead are basically in the state of a deep sleep and they have nothing to do with life anymore which is brought out in Ecclesiastes 9:10. Jesus many times talked about how people were "asleep" in death. At death you just go into a deep sleep.
If you would have the courage to find out about Islam, then i am sure you will find an absolutely and entirely convincing answer, which changes your life for the better inshaa Allah. Please try that and you will carry the answer for the rest of your life
After the body dies the soul/spirit which is eternal but not like most people think. It will continue on in the next cycle. What is the next cycle, well that depends on you and what you still need in order to grow. This experience/life isn't the end. Energy doesn't die it just changes form and continues on.

Jehovah God gives us a clear answer to that question in his written word, the Bible. Eccl. 9:5,6 states, "For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten. Also, their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished, and they have no portion anymore to time indefinite in anything that has to be done under the sun." Psalms 146:4 states, "His spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground; In that day his thoughts do perish.'' What the Bible teaches about the condition of the dead is comforting. As we have seen, the dead do not suffer pain or heartache. There is no reason to be afraid of them, for they cannot harm us. They do not need our help, and they cannot help us. We cannot speak with them, and they cannot speak with us. Many religious leaders falsely claim that they can help those who have died, and people who believe such leaders give them money. But knowing the truth protects us from being deceived by those who teach such lies.
You know what? Captain Kirk says that "why does god need a star ship". Stop quoting: it doesn't help your point. The bible contains many things like talking snakes, talking donkeys, dragons, witches, wizards, giants, unicorns; endorses slavery, genocide, cannibalism, etc; and provides inaccurate statements such as suggesting that three flicks(oh i'm sorry, its 7) of bird blood will cure you of skin diseases and your house of mold. Quoting only demonstrates that you can pick and choose what you like; it lends no credence to your argument.
The Holy Bilble said that when a men is death he is a sleep.longer then night sleep.I will explain you in easy way.when a person is death God take his breath that he have given him.The death men do not know noting because he is a sleep.when you are a sleep you don't know noting right!as well when he die he don't know notting just getting a deep sleep and don't even have a dream.and as he is made by dust his body return to dust! You may say that" why you say he is a sleep"?Because when you are a sleep you awake a gain in the right time(morning). So all the people in this world will be a wake when the second coming of Jesus Christ!only in that time a godly people will be awake from there thom and will be taken to heaven! But the sinner will be still remain in there thom or in there death place.after the Godly people were taken to heaven they will a wake in badly.that day will be so sadful for them.and the everlasting fire will be drawn from heaven and they will be burn until death. In that day the sinner will be not death easly because God will make them suffer for there sin! That is call HELL!so my friend do you want to get to HEAVEN or HELL that your choice.
In the beginning when God created Adam & Eve He shed light on what happens at death!! Gen. 3:19 says talking to Adam & Eve "In the sweat of your face you will eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For dust you are and to dust you will return." This is also in harmony with what is said at Ps. 146:4 were it says "His sprint goes out, he goes BACK to the ground, in that day his thoughts/plans/thinking do perish."
