thank you

Jihad, broken sharia laws, etc.
It's really the fanatics that have headed that direction. Not all muslims are dangerous or jihadists.

"Radicals" is the word I was looking for...

The Quran states that taking lives is prohibited. It becomes twisted when those with a political or power agenda use the Quran and the Muslim faith to their advantage by making it an article of religion and somehow killing in the name of Allah, God or any other chosen deity is somehow justified. It's not the Quran or the Muslim faithful that's at fault. It's the radicals who are using it to get others to do their bidding in the name of religion.

Like the Bible the Quran can be MISINTERPRETED in many ways!
Also note the 10 Commandments do NOT comment on killing.
The correct translation is ...."shall not murder".

There is not such a meaning in the Quran, ordering or even permitting the Muslims to ever attack innocent people whether they are Christians, Jews, or any other faith for that matter.

Combat is only ordered against those who are attacking or killing the innocent Muslims or fighting against the established Muslim state.

Allah says :

( 190 ) Fight in the way of Allah those who fight you but do not transgress. Indeed. Allah does not like transgressors. Quran (2:190)

but what if a muslim believes that not to believe what a muslim believes is, in and of itself, an attack on the muslim faith.

excuse me , but i am not understanding what do yo mean ... if you could make it more clear ...

if you do not follow islam you are considered a "transgressor". If you are a transgressor. you are considered by muslims as fighting against the muslim state.therefore combat can be ordered agaisnt those fighting against the muslim state.

Oh ... ! , Really ... ? reconsider your information ,,, you have missed a lot ...

( 8 ) Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes - from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly.
Quran (60:8)

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Amr:

The Prophet said, "Whoever killed a Mu'ahid (a person who is granted the pledge of protection by the Muslims) shall not smell the fragrance of Paradise though its fragrance can be smelt at a distance of forty years (of traveling). Sahih al-Bukhari

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) had a Jewish neighbor who used to throw garbage in his way, but when the Prophet heard one day that the neighbor was sick he went to visit him.
